So, I have reached the point in my pregnancy that I have started the (what I am sure are perfectly normal) fears about labor and delivery. Can I handle it? Should I have an epidural? Some research reassures me and some scares me. Anyone have thoughts or advice on the whole experience? Did you have an epidural?
Also, I am now starting to search for a pediatrician. Any suggestions? I know I can rely on all of you for feedback. :)

We can talk sometime about the epidural thing...my opinion/story is too long to post here. As far as pediatrician's go...we use Dr. Anthony Scott at Grapevine Pediatric Clinic. He's the best and his office staff is always really friendly. The nurses call back right away when you have questions and I've never had a problem getting worked in if Cohen needed to be seen.
I also LOVE our pediatrician as well, although most of the church goes to Dr. Scott. WE go to Dr. Vanita Shori, who is just a block down from church. She is wonderful and so is Dr. Hopkins (in case you ever have to see him). Staff and nurses are fabulous and Dr. Shori returns my calls if she can. She has rights to Cook's Children's in case of emergencies and has the ability for home health care if ever needed. Don't be scared about labor and delivery....piece of cake and totally worth it! Notice how most of the girls are having several! :)
We go to Dr. Deitchman and absolutley love him!! He's at the The Cook Children's clinic in NRH. I like the fact that they will see you on Sat and Sun and have a 24 hour phone line where you can talk to one of the nurses. I don't know if other places do that, he's the only one we've been to. There are about 9 pediatricains in that building.
We see Dr. Deitchman as well. Really love him....even Cassidee doesn't mind going to him.
GIRL-FRIEND! When my OB induced me she told me not to be a hero and take the epidural when I felt I needed it. She wanted me to be as comfortable as possible. I wanted to walk the halls in L&D but after she broke my water my contractions came on pretty quick. When I got to about 4 centimeters I really felt the "I THINK I NEED THE DRUGS" pain. The doctor was awesome, he came in and put the epidural in and it was a piece of cake. I was more scared of the needle then I was pushing this kid out of my loins! When I was in labor the best thing for me was to go into another place in my mind and really concentrate me. I didn't want to be that woman screaming at the end of the hall, how much pain she was in. I just meditated and all was really good! I went all the way to 10 centimeters (12 hours of HARD labor) to only find out that my left side of my uterus was not fully dilating! After pushing a few time, she saw that it still wasn't going to work. She she had voted that it was time that they needed to pull me in for a C-section. I was REALLY upset about it, and felt that I failed. When they rolled me in and put me on the table to preform the C-section all happened so fast and Teagan was out and wisked away to be looked at and weighed. You do what you feel is good for you. I still vote to have the epidural. Whatever happens, just remember you are going to have this perfect little person staring at you by the end of the day. It's a blessing!
